Remember when I found Polyvore? Well, as a lover of time-wasting avoidance activities of that sort, I am drawn to sites like these like a bear to honey.

Enter, Pinterest.

Suddenly I have a place to 'pin' all the inspiring pictures I've come across that I love and want to save. I love browsing what others on Pinterest have shared too. Found a cool living room? Pin it. Found a great quote? Pin it. Found the coolest tree ever? Pin it. Found a great haircut? Pin it.
It's my new virtual filing cabinet and bulletin board and it makes me happy.

These are some of my pins. This is what I like to do on a lazy Sunday afternoon when I'm daydreaming of our future home and looking for inspiration.

Look Alikes

I know I’m years behind everyone in the crafting world so it’s no wonder it took me so long to make a few of these little cuties. They were going to be a surprise for the girls but Ellie spied Piper’s unfinished doll in a drawer and she’s been asking me about them ever since. I had them both sewn up for a while but I’ve been too chicken to put faces on them for fear of permanently screwing them up. Turns out it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be and I think they turned out pretty cute. I decided to give them to the girls for Valentine’s Day and both girls were excited to get them.

Oh and we had a heart themed breakfast this morning and I made these. So fun!

Before & After

I have a stack of books and magazines and a few small projects next to my bed. At night I usually put on a movie (or Scrubs for the 80th time) and unwind with a book, work on a project, write in my journal, or flip through a magazine. That pile of stuff is always there. Of course it morphs every few months depending on my current kick. For a while it was all nutrition and exercise books and magazines then came the childbirth and baby related stuff followed by hippie, green earth stuff then knitting books and projects which have currently been replaced by everything written by Dave Ramsey, house plans, and sewing how-to books.
I have resigned myself to the fact that the "to read/to do" pile will perpetually be there so I decided I needed a pretty  place to hide it.
I finally found this awesome dresser at a thrift store last summer for $35 and it was love at first sight. Big enough to hide stuff in and potentially pretty enough to make me smile when I look at it. So it came home with me.

Here is the beauty on the left just home from the thrift store and after a light sanding on the right.  I love the legs on this dresser.

The work in progress. My brother let me use his paint sprayer and my dad let me use his shop. How awesome is my family?

And after! Not bad huh? Except for the dark pictures - it's what I get for being a basement-dweller. The paint is from Ace and the knobs are from Anthropologie. They were bigger than I had pictured in my mind but I really really love them.

Ellie: Did he get a trophy?

You Can Thank Me Later

Actually you can thank my genius husband. He invented the best tasting quesadilla ever. And I do mean EVER.

Are you ready? Here is what you need:
Uncooked tortillas from Costco

Ranchero queso fresco (cheese) from Costco

A good tomato
Avocado
Salt

On a griddle cook your tortilla on one side
Flip your tortilla and put cheese slices on half then fold over
Let it cook on that side for a little while then flip
Cook until cheese is melted and tortilla is done to your liking
Cut in half
Top each half with a slice of tomato and a few slices of avocado
Add a little salt
Devour
Repeat

I understand everyone's tastes are vastly different so if you end up trying this and think to yourself, "Meh, I've had better" well that's okay, that just means there's more for me.

p.s this is what the package of cheese looks like and it's found in the specialty cheese section of Costco. I've tried queso fresco from a regular grocery store and it wasn't nearly as good.
