All Smiles

I've read that newborns don't really respond to a smile with a smile for whatever reason and usually the smiles you see that early in life are a result of gas bubbles or sheer coincidence. However, at only 3 1/2 weeks old, our little Piper loves to smile! My favorite time of day with her is after she wakes up in the morning between 7:30 and 8:30. She wakes up to nurse and then is quietly wide awake and looking around at everything. She will stare at me and when I talk to her and smile at her she will smile right back. This morning it was one of those adorable baby smiles. You know the ones when they get all excited and start breathing a little faster and wiggle their little arms and smile with their mouth wide open? Well it was one of those smiles.
I immediately fell so much deeper in love with this little girl.
